Frequently Asked Questions
What is a QR code?
A QR (Quick Response) code is a two-dimensional barcode that smartphones can scan to instantly open a website, save a contact, connect to Wi-Fi, or trigger any other digital action.
Is this QR code generator really free?
Yes — completely free with no sign-up, no watermarks, and no usage limits. Generate as many QR codes as you need.
Do the QR codes expire?
No. QR codes generated here are static — they encode data directly in the pattern. They will never expire as long as the destination URL or content remains valid.
What is error correction level?
Error correction allows a QR code to be scanned even if part of it is damaged or covered. Level L (7%) is best for clean surfaces. Level H (30%) is best for physical products, stickers, or logos overlaid on the QR.
What size QR code should I download for printing?
For print (business cards, flyers, banners), download PNG at 512×512px or use the SVG format which is infinitely scalable without quality loss.
Can I put a logo in the centre of the QR code?
The generator does not add logos automatically, but you can set error correction to H (30%) and overlay a small logo in image editing software — the QR will still scan correctly.
How do I scan a QR code on my phone?
On most modern smartphones (iOS 11+ and Android 9+), simply open your Camera app and point it at the QR code — no extra app needed. A link will appear at the top of the screen to tap.
Is my data safe?
Yes. All QR codes are generated entirely in your browser. No data is sent to any server. Lakion never sees the content you encode.
