Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation was incorporated in 1962 to the nation as an insurance provider. From re inception 1978 there were three trade Unions. Two were political trade Unions. Many workers (employees) joined in 1978 & protecting rights is too was a priority. As a result of that in 1982 ‘Insurance Employees Union’ (IEU) came in.
